The Liberal Police Department, Barton County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Fire Marshal have investigated several fires in Liberal, Missouri.
Reports have been sent to the Barton County Prosecutor on the fires and criminal charges have been filed against two subjects from the Liberal area.
Zachary D. Workman, age 18 and Thomas J. Ingram, age 25 of Liberal have been issued criminal summons on four counts of 2nd degree arson, and they are to appear on Sept. 19th at 9 am at the Barton County Courthouse.
Zachary Workman is currently in custody at the Vernon County Jail on unrelated charges.
The four fires, which are believed to be arsons, have been investigated and criminal charges have been filed on were on the following dates June 25th, July 3rd, July 4th at, and July 10th in the city of Liberal.
The Sheriff would like to thank all of the LIberal Fire Department first responders in there district for all the hard work and countless hours in fighting these fires.
