Carthage man flown to Mercy Springfield after collision on 96

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision 11 a.m. Tuesday on MO 96, three miles east of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Honda Civic driven by Angel O. Gomez-Lopez, 25, Carthage, attempted to pass another vehicle and drove into the path of a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Alexandra Deslauriers, 32, Columbia.







Gomez-Lopez was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

Deslauriers was treated for minor injuries at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage.
