Joplin woman injured in collision south of Carl Junction

A Joplin woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident 2:16 p.m. today on Route JJ, two miles south of Carl Junction.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by Jennie L. Leake, 62, Joplin, was stopped in the roadway signaling to make a left turn when a 2018 Kia Soul driven by Kaitlyn E. Shive, 24, Lebanon, Ohio, topped a hill, braked, began to slide and struck the Leake vehicle.

Leake was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
