Neosho bicyclist struck, killed on I-49

A Neosho bicyclist was struck and killed 9:25 p.m. Sunday on northbound I-49, three miles north of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Alex W. Foster, 25, Springfield, struck a bicycle ridden by Michael L. Linton, 51, Neosho, in the rear.







Newton County Coroner Brian Artherton pronounced Linton dead at the scene.

The fatality was the 26th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
