Cause of fire at Best Western on Rangeline under investigation

At approximately 3:30 pm, Ladder 5C, Rescue 4C, Engine 4C, Engine 3C, Battalion 1C, and Redings Mill Fire Protection District were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Best Western On S. Rangeline.

First arriving units found one room on the first floor of the hotel to be well involved in fire and starting to extend to the second floor. 

An aggressive attack was made on the fire while additional crews made sure there were no occupants in nearby rooms. The fire was extinguished and confined to the room of origin. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

 

Joplin firefighters were assisted by Metro Emergency Transport System, Newton County Ambulance District,and the Joplin Police Department. The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.
