TRAFFIC ALERT: Traffic Slowdowns/Stops on WB I-44 at Night Near Joplin Feb. 15


What: Westbound I-44 traffic slowed and possibly stopped between Loop 44 (Exit 6) and southbound Missouri Route 43 (Exit 4) near Joplin where contractor crews are removing an overhead structure at the former weigh station near Mile Marker 3.0

When: Between 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 15 and 6 a.m., Wednesday, February 16

Traffic Impacts

Law enforcement officers slowing and stopping westbound I-44 traffic beginning at Loop 44 (Exit 6)

Traffic attempting to enter westbound I-44 at Missouri Route 43 (Exit 4) will be stopped for up to 15 minutes while contractor crews remove overhead structure at former weigh station near Mile Marker 3.0

No signed detour

Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone

Drivers urged to find alternate route
