5/30/2022 Officer took a report of a theft in the 100 block of W. 12th. Suspect was later found, transported to the Barton County Jail and issued a summons for Stealing under $750 (shoplifting).
5/30/2022 Officer took a report of the theft of a 22 ft car hauler trailer in the 1000 block of Grand. Investigation continues.
5/30/2022 Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. 12th St. for a theft. Investigation continues.
06/01/2022 Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of E. 12th for a theft. Suspect hid in the bathroom of a business at closing time. Suspect then stole lottery tickets and cigarettes. A warrant was issued for Burglary-No Force-Nonresidence; subject was identified and a warrant was issued later.
6/2/2022 Officer observed a vehicle in the 400 block of E. 12th with improper registration. Suspect was issued summons for no driver’s license, failure to maintain insurance, failure to register, display plates of another vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
06/03/2022 Officer took a report of a traffic crash and 1st and Truman Street. Driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Barton County Jail.
06/03/2022 Officer took a report of a burglary in the 400 block of Poplar St. A vacant house had been broken into; it was discovered that someone was squatting at the residence. During inspection of the personal property, the suspect was identified. Among the property, were items that were stolen from a residence on May 27. The suspect was in jail on other charges. Probable cause statements were sent to the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney for Stealing/Receiving Stolen Property and Burglary 2nd degree.
06/04/2022 During routine patrol, officer spotted suspicious activity in the 1500 block of College St. One person observed police officers at the residence, turned around and ran. A second person with warrants was apprehended and arrested a short time later. He was transported to the Barton County Jail. Felony paperwork for Possession of a controlled substance and Felony Resisting Arrest were submitted to the Barton Count Prosecuting Attorney. After arrival at the jail, it was found he had multiple felony warrants for his arrest.
06/05/2022 Officer made an arrest for shoplifting and trespassing. Suspect put items in his pockets and left the store in the 400 block of West 12th without paying. Officers were notified of the theft by a citizen. Probable cause statements were given to the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney for charges of Stealing under $750 (shoplifting) and burglary-no force-non residence and trespassing.
