(From the Joplin Fire Department)Today we placed our new 107’ ladder truck in service at Station #5 servicing the south side of Joplin.
A traditional wet down ceremony was held in which water from the old ladder truck was poured into the tank of our new ladder, it was sprayed down with water from the old ladder and then dried off by community members, it was blessed by our Fire Department chaplain, and finally pushed into the station by firefighters and community members.
It was a great ceremony, and the new ladder truck will serve the citizens of Joplin well. Thank you to all those that attended.
