Joplin resurfacing program to continue on Pool Street near Landreth Park

(From the City of Joplin)

This year’s resurfacing program of Joplin streets continues with milling and paving operations in neighborhood areas.

On Friday, July 1, work will occur on Pool Street in the Landreth Park area as the street is overlayed along with new parking areas along Pool Street.

Landreth Park will remain open during this time, however, Pool Street will be closed at times while the contractor is paving. This could limit access to the parking lot near the intersection of Murphy Blvd and Pool Street at times. Please park in other lots during this time. The street will reopen by the end of the day and all parking lots will be accessible during the weekend.

The City recognizes that paving operations may create an inconvenience. Due to weather delays and other scheduling conflicts, paving operations bumped into the beginning of the holiday weekend. The City appreciates your patience and understanding.

As the resurfacing program continues this summer, citizens should watch for postings in their neighborhoods. If their street will be affected by the resurfacing, the contractor, Blevins Asphalt, will notify residents along city streets with informational door hangers on their front doors.

No parking signs will also be posted along both sides of the street, and at both ends of each block. These notifications should be completed within 48 hours prior to the work being started. It is important to ensure that vehicles are not parked on the posted streets until the paving work has been completed.
