Jasper Police search warrant execution leads to arrest on drug, weapons charges

(From the Jasper Police Department)

On Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 at 1359, Jasper PD assisted by Barton County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at 310 N. 1st St., Jasper, Mo, in reference to sales of drugs near a school. By the way, that’s NOT acceptable in any way. The residence is very near Jasper schools and Eagle’s Nest Daycare.

Contact was made with the tenant, Joey D. Summers.

A search of the residence was conducted. Felony amount of high grade marijuana, THC wax, scales and other items were seized. 2 handguns were also located inside the residence.

Summers admitted to selling marijuana during questioning.

Jasper PD, who was aware of Summers’ past history of dealing narcotics, warned him a few months ago that drug activity was not going to be tolerated here. It was not just an empty suggestion by the police department.

Summers faces charges for distribution of drugs near a school and felon in possession of firearms.
§ 195.214. — Distribution of a controlled substance near schools, penalty.

2. Distribution of a controlled substance near schools is a class A felony which term shall be served without probation or parole if the court finds the defendant is a persistent drug offender.
