Jasper police stop leads to arrest, meth confiscation

On Thursday, October 6th, 2022 at 1554 hours, Jasper PD initiated a traffic stop near Mercer St. and Harrison St., Jasper, Mo, on a black and orange 1993 Chevy truck.

While sitting in the school zone, the observed the vehicle traveling west on Mercer. A license check of the vehicle showed it to check back to Zachary Barlett, who had an attached warrant on the license number. The warrant was out of Jasper County Sheriff's Office.








During the course of the stop, the driver, later identified as Zachary Barlett appeared to be concealing an item based upon the delay in pulling over and the movements observed by him.

Contact with Barlett, and asked him to step out of the vehicle in which he complied. During a search of Barlett’s pockets, two plastic baggies with about 1/4 gram each of a white crystal substance inside was found. A search of the vehicle yielded A black box with a meth pipe inside and several plastic baggies with white powder residue.

Barlett was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and the active warrant. He was transported to the Jasper County jail and held on a 24-hour hold.
