Joplin police investigate school threat

On October 19, 2022, at approximately 10:30 AM the Joplin Police Department was contacted by another law enforcement agency in reference to a potential threat made involving an unknown school within the city of Joplin.

Officers and investigators immediately began working with school officials to determine the validity of the threat and location of the potential suspect.

Officers were able to locate the potential suspect. After an investigation, there are no further risks or safety concerns for the schools in reference to this incident.

No charges are pending in this matter.
