(From the Joplin Police Department)On the morning of October 7, 2022, the Joplin Police Department received information that an escapee from Ottawa County, Oklahoma Jail was in Joplin.
Following up on various leads, Joplin Police Department investigators were able to locate 21-year-old Tyler Tavis of Miami, OK, and take him into custody without incident. Tavis was wanted for Escape and Drug Possession in Ottawa County.
