A 10-year-old Joplin boy was injured after being struck by a car 8:05 p.m. Monday on County Lane 197 one mile east of Carterville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, the boy was in the roadway when he was a struck by a black passenger car, which was driving on the wrong side of the road. The car fled the scene.
The boy was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Joplin.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
