City of Joplin announces holiday closures, no changes in trash routes

(From the City of Joplin)

In recognition of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 2, as the holidays fall on Sunday this year.

This closing includes MAPS transportation service and the Joplin Recycling Center, which will also be closed on Saturday, December 24, and Saturday, December 31.

Public safety services (Police and Fire Departments), airport operations, and wastewater treatment operations will continue to operate throughout the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year.

City offices, MAPS and the Recycling Center will open and resume their normal operating hours on Tuesday, December 27 following Christmas weekend, and on Tuesday, January 3 after the New Year’s holiday.

The Joplin City Council meeting will be moved to Tuesday, January 3, 2023, due to the holiday closures.

Residential trash service and curbside recycling schedules do NOT change this year since the holiday falls on a Sunday.
