Lamar woman arrested after series of thefts from vehicles

(From the Lamar Police Department)

The Lamar Police Department has seen an increase in thefts from vehicles over the last month. On 06/11/23 officers received two more reports of thefts from vehicles.

Officers were able to link evidence from past thefts to these two thefts. Officers were then able to identify a suspect and ultimately submit multiple summons for four thefts for Molly R Smith, 31, of Lamar Missouri.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind people to always lock their vehicles and please do not leave valuables or money unattended in their vehicles.

Charges are based on probable cause and all persons are considered innocent until or unless proven guilty in court.

  1. I hope they prosecute and if found guilty sentenced adequate time to make them consider if it's worth the risk. It's sad but people are going to start shooting looters like rabid dogs. They steal work equipment that effect peoples livelihoods. If we need to build bigger jails so be it !

  2. She stole flowers out of my yard. I watched her. She's been a thief for over 10+ years now. Never gets a real punishment. If Molly Smith is around or any of them lock all your stuff up. Sad world now days.
