Lamar Police remind residents of fireworks regulations

As we approach the Independence Day Holiday, a friendly reminder of the Ordinance for fireworks in Lamar.

 
• Allowed only on July 1,2,3,4, and 5th from Noon to 11 pm.

 
• No fireworks on the square, city parks or in public streets

 
• Do not shoot fireworks from vehicles or from inside buildings.

 
• Cannot be discharged or set off with-in 300 feet of a hospital or nursing home.

 
• Bottle Rockets are not allowed to be set off or discharged in the city of Lamar.

 
• It is unlawful for any parent, guardian, or other person to allow minors under 17 to set off or discharge fireworks

It's a good idea to keep a garden hose handy.
