Five people injured in 3-vehicle accident on I-49 near Carthage

Five people were injured in a three-vehicle accident 2:25 p.m. Thursday on I-49 four miles north of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by Hunter D. Crane, 23, Greeley, Kansas, crossed the median and struck a 2018 Volvo XZ90 driven by Jarvis L. Brown, 42, El Dorado, Arkansas and then a 2018 Ford F150 driven by Gary L. Lyons, 70, Independence, with the Crane and Brown vehicles overturning.

Crane was treated for serious injuries and Brown and three passengers in his vehicle, Calandra Brown, 47, an 8-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy, all of El Dorado, for minor injuries at Mercy Joplin.
