Two Jasper County deputies and a K9 were injured in a one-vehicle accident 4:11 p.m. Friday on Route HH two miles east of Carterville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by Nathaniel R. DeHerrera, 35, Carthage, was responding to an emergency call, hydroplaned off the left side of the roadway, struck the ditch and overturned into a fence.
DeHerrera and a passenger, Cole T. Jameson, 25, Carthage, were treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Carthage and Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, respectively.
The K9, Arner, was taken to the emergency veterinary clinic in Carthage.
