“The West before Lewis and Clark: Three Lives,” will be the featured topic presented by Dr. Elliott West, History Consultant, University of Arkansas.
West is a two-time president of the Western History Association (an international association). He has published extensively on the history of the American West and the Age of Expansion. He has authored such titles as The Saloon on the Rocky Mountain Mining Frontier, The Contested Plains, Continental Reckoning, The Last Indian War: The Nez Perce Story, and a host of other titles.
The history symposium series is a partnership with Crowder College and Missouri Humanities and with support from the Missouri Humanities Trust Fund.
