Pittsburg man arrested on felony warrants

(From the Pittsburg Police Department)

On Saturday, September 9th, 2023 around 06:31 p.m., officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of E 6th St for a disturbance.

Upon officers' arrival, they observed 40-year-old Jerome Devore, of Pittsburg, who was the subject of the call. Officers were aware of his multiple felony warrants from Crawford and Cherokee county courts. Devore fled back into the residence, and officers heard movement in a connected commercial building.

Officers obtained permission to search both premises, and the department’s K9 unit responded. The K9 located Devore hiding amongst the items stored in the building. Devore responded to verbal commands, and was taken into custody without incident.

Devore was taken to Crawford County Jail, where he is being held on no bond for his multiple warrants, and the charge of Interference with Law Enforcement.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing at this time. Anyone having information related to this incident, or other incidents, is urged to contact the Pittsburg Police Department at 620-231-1700, or at our tip line, 620-231-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
