09/05/2023 Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of E. 12th St. in reference to stolen items. On 09/08/23, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of E. 12th for a report of the above shoplifter returning to the business. Suspect was issued a citation for Stealing under $750(shoplifting) and trespassed from the business.

09/06/2023 Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of W. 12th St. for a suspicious person. The suspect was asking customers for money and distracting the staff. The suspect stole an item from the business. He was transported to the Barton County Jail and served a summons for Stealing and Trespassing. He was then held on a warrant out of Bates County.

09/01/2023 Officer was advised by a citizen that they had seen a male attempt to pull the electric meter off a residence in the 800 block of Poplar. On 09/08/2023, observed the suspect on a bicycle. Suspect was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail where he was issued a summons and released.

09/07/2023 Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Walnut for the report of a disturbance. Parties agreed to separate for the night. No charges filed.








09/09/2023 Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Mill for a domestic disturbance. One person was arrested, transported to the Barton County Jail. Probable cause statement was sent to the Barton County Prosecutor’s Office.

09/09/2023 Officers were responded to a call for a theft not in progress in the 900 block of Jefferson. Investigation continues.

09/09/2023 Officers responded to NW 1st Ln for report of a past tense theft. Investigation continues.

09/10/2023 Officers were dispatched to 10th & Walnut in reference to a possible domestic disturbance. One person was placed under arrest and placed on a 24 hr hold for domestic assault 4th degree. A PC statement was sent to the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney.
