A Carthage man was injured in a two-vehicle accident 1:52 p.m. today on Schifferdecker Avenue a half mile north of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Gilbert A. Talamantez, 46, Carthage, driving a 2015 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic, lost control of the vehicle on a curve.
Jakob L. Farmer, 25, Webb City, driving a 1999 Peterbilt 379, attempted to avoid a collision by traveling off the right side of the roadway, but struck the motorcycle.
Talamantez was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Joplin.
