The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 719 S Indiana on Wednesday, 14 December, at 9:20 PM. The first crew arrived at 9:24 PM and found a single story wood framed residential structure with smoke and fire showing. Fire crews made a quick attack on the fire and were able to confine the fire to the kitchen and a bedroom. Crews remained on scene until 11:54 PM.
The structure was occupied by Elizabeth Kinnaird and two toddlers. All were able to exit before the fire spread.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting crews.
The fire department responded with six apparatus and 17 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.
The fire remains under investigation at this time.
