A Granby man was killed in a two-vehicle accident 6:03 a.m. today on Highway 60, five miles east of Granby.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a David M. Dooley, 56, Granby, driving a 2004 Ford Focus, lost control on the icy road, crossed the center line and struck a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Kelly R. George, 43, Monett, head on.
Newton County Coroner Mark Bridges pronounced Dooley dead at the scene.
George was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
The fatality was the 111th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
