Elementary-aged Harry Potter fans and their families are invited to join us on Thursday, February 2, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Children's Department at Joplin Public Library (JPL). In anticipation of the event, the JPL House Elves have decorated the Children's Department. Make friends with our Venomous Tentacula, check to see if your acceptance letter from Hogwarts has arrived, or see if you can identify the potion ingredients on display.
Harry Potter Family Night attendees may choose to participate in a Trivia Contest, play "Wizard" Chess or Harry Potter Bingo, or make a Harry Potter themed craft. To help bring the night to life, the Library staff will be reading their favorite passages from the books. Both Hogwarts and Muggles are welcome to attend the event where costumes are optional, and fun is mandatory!
