Crowder PBL team captures second place at national competition

(From Crowder College)

The Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference was held June 24–27 in Anaheim. Participants from across the United States attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in 60 business and business-related competitive events.

The team of Jackson Lewis (Neosho), Amber Blake (Lampe), and Kailey Patrick (Goodman) captured 4th place with Business Presentation. Their topic was Social Media Etiquette in the Workplace. Lewis captured 2nd place in Computer Applications. The competition included all colleges, 2-and 4-year universities. Cuy Yang (Neosho) made it to the top 15 finalists in Sales Presentation.

“The students worked exceptionally hard from the time they qualified at the state level to make their presentation one of the best in the country. We were excited when they made it to the top 15, but to place 4th was outstanding,” stated Cynthia Quinly, PBL Advisor.

The award was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to competitions, students immersed themselves in interactive workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and heard from motivational keynotes on a broad range of business topics.
