Diamond woman charged with DWI following one-vehicle accident near Carthage

A Diamond woman was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 1:45 a.m. today at Apple and County Road 120, one mile south of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Saturn Ion driven by Ranysha H. Pierce, 24, Diamond, failed to stop at the intersection, ran off the roadway and struck a fence.

Pierce was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage.
