MSSU weekly activities update

Missouri Southern State University activities for the upcoming week will include “Specious Recollections,” a solo art exhibit by Kerra Taylor.

The exhibit opened on Nov. 8 and will run through Friday, Dec. 1 in the MSSU Spiva Art Gallery.

The public is invited to an Artist’s Talk at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 in the gallery with a reception to follow from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit and event are free and open to the public.

Other activities scheduled on campus for the week of Nov. 13 include the annual “One Warm Coat” drive, four free Global Entrepreneurship Week workshops and musical recitals.

The week will be capped with the Fall Concert of the Southern Symphony Orchestra on the evening of Friday, Nov. 17 in Taylor Performing Arts Center.

Monday, Nov. 13

Tax savings strategies discussed will include: hiring your minor children, renting property from a spouse, providing tax deductible health insurance for you and your family, contribution to a retirement plan, incorporating your business, and other opportunities for a tax reduction. Southern Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert:  7:30 p.m., Taylor Performing Arts Center. The orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Macomber, will present the premiere performance of the well-known Korean folk song Arirang.  Free.
