Well.... The local media said there would be extra law enforcement out last night, we (and other agencies) shared that same information on social media, yet we had seven people booked into the Cherokee County Jail, four of them on suspicion of driving under the influence.
By all accounts, other area jurisdictions were busy also. We share the information about checkpoints, increased patrol, etc... because we know there will be a large number of people out drinking and we want to encourage them to get designated drivers ahead of time.
