Baxter Springs residents injured in two-vehicle accident on 66

Two Baxter Springs, Kansas residents were injured in a two-vehicle collision 10:15 a.m. today on MO 66, three miles west of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2016 Mack dump truck driven by Thomas L. Mann, 51, Carl Junction, struck the rear of a 2003 Honda Civic driven by Matthew D. Hug, 37, Baxter Springs, causing the Hug vehicle to run off the roadway and overturn.

Hug was treated for minor injuries and a passenger in his vehicle, Joyce L. Myers, 22, Baxter Springs, for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
