The Missouri State Highway Patrol announces the arrests of Calvin L. Trent, 59, and Willis L. Trent, 36, both of Greenfield, Missouri, for the apparent murder of Devin M. Hunt, 31, also of Greenfield, Missouri.

At 9 a.m. on September 11, 2018, the Dade County Sheriff's Department received a report of a body in Sons Creek on Dade County Road 112, west of Dade County Road 91.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered a male subject, later identified as Devin M. Hunt, lying deceased in the water.

An examination of the body revealed that Hunt had died from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Dade County Sheriff’s Department conducted a joint investigation.

The investigation led to the arrest of Calvin and Willis Trent at 5:23 p.m. on September 11. Both subjects are being held with no bond in the Dade County Jail on charges of first degree murder and armed criminal action.

The charges for which the above individuals were arrested are mere accusations and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
