Motorcyclist killed in accident near Neosho

(This post has been revised from an earlier version.)

The decomposing body of a Wyandotte, Oklahoma motorcyclist, who was killed in a one-vehicle accident was found 12:25 p.m. today on Mulberry Road, one mile west of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Richard C. Clemmons, 52, Wyandotte, failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road and ejected the driver.

Newton County Coroner Dale Owens pronounced Clemmons dead at the scene.

The fatality was the 80th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D and had apparently been dead since at least last week, so it has been recorded as the 20th death for the month of August.
