One of our deputies just received this on his personal cell phone.
It is a scam.
When you agree to the proposition, the scammer will send you a check and then request you send half of the money back via a gift card or money transfer service. This is to “pay the local decal company”.
A few days later your bank will contact you that the check wasn’t real and you are responsible for the lack of funds.
Don’t be a victim of scams. If it seems too good to be true, think it over.
