Pierce City man seriously injured in crash on I-44 near Sarcoxie

A Pierce City man was injured in a two-vehicle accident 2:55 p.m. Wednesday on I-44, one mile east of Sarcoxie.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2016 Chevrolet Coronado driven by Daniel I. Meriweather, 48, Pierce City, struck the towed unit of a 2015 Peterbilt driven by Charranjeen S. Dhillon, 50, Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Meriweather was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
