No siren test Wednesday for Joplin

(From the City of Joplin)

Wednesday is our next regularly scheduled outdoor warning siren test….the temperature is anticipated to be near 34 by 10:00, with a high of 44 later in the day.

With the precipitation we received yesterday, and the temperature not rising above freezing until 10ish, we will not conduct the test.

While our policy allows us to test our sirens at below freezing temperatures, there is no sense in taking a chance on an equipment failure.

That said, if there were an actual threat, be assured we would immediately activate the sirens regardless of temperature.

Our next scheduled test date is December 11th 2019.
