Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident 7:39 a.m. today on MO 171, three miles east of Webb City.
According to the Highway Patrol report, as vehicles were slowing for a prior crash, a 1997 Peterbilt Conventional driven by Richard C. Loftin, 32, Joplin, struck the rear of a 2019 Chevrolet Trax driven by Shannon G. Best, 48, Joplin, causing it to hit a 2019 Ford Explorer driven by Eric G. Freeman, 61, Rogers, Arkansas.
Freeman was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
Best was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy McCune-Brooks, Carthage.
