Sarcoxie Police pursuit leads to arrest of two on numerous charges

(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)

On 10/06/2019, Cpl. Scheppert recognized an occupant in a vehicle that had several warrants out of a neighboring jurisdiction.

A traffic stop was initiated. The vehicle failed to yield and attempted to flee from Cpl. Scheppert. Both vehicles ended up in the yard of 1406 Miner, the residence of Joshua Jackson (the driver of the white Mercury).

Both Jackson and passenger, Thane Wagoner exited the vehicle and ran towards the house. Jackson made it inside. Wagoner was given several commands to stop, Wagoner refused commands and was tased.

Jackson came out of the house and both suspects were detained.

Jackson was arrested and charged through the city with resisting by fleeing, no headlights (it was raining), no insurance, and possession of marijuana.

Wagoner was arrested for his outstanding warrants and state charges were sent for resisting by fleeing.

Both Jackson and Wagoner are innocent until the courts decide otherwise.
