Proposed changes for three Joplin elementary schools topic of next Newsmakers program

(From Southern News Service)

The proposed changes for three elementary schools in the Joplin School District highlight the next edition of “Newsmakers” on KGCS-TV.

JSD superintendent, Dr. Melinda Moss, sits down with host and KGCS general manager, Judy Stiles, to discuss the process the district has gone through to evaluate facility needs.

Those needs include construction of a new school to replace West Central and Columbia Elementary schools – as well as an addition to Kelsey Norman Elementary.

Airdates for the program are Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21 at 9:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 25 at 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. The show will also air on Saturday, November 30 at 5:30 a.m. on KOAM-TV – and is currently posted on KGCS’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
