Joplin Little Theatre production of "Christmas Kid" to help get toys for KOAM/Salvation Army project

(From Joplin Little Theatre)

A light comedy, "Christmas Kid", is a sweet, updated version of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."

Calvin owns a toy store in mid-town America called The Toy Box. On Christmas Eve he wants to stay open as long as customers are buying, but family and employees say it isn’t right. Then Calvin is visited by Angela, an angel with an attitude.

Featuring a cast of 30, the story takes off from there.

This is a very special event for the Christmas Season. JLT is working in conjunction with KOAM-TV and The Salvation Army.

When attending the show, bring a new toy (unwrapped) and put it on the front of the stage before the show starts. It will be used on the set of The Toy Box, then will be put in the Salvation Army box in the lobby, to be given to area children to help make their Christmas a little brighter.

For the donation individuals will receive a voucher, compliments of KOAM-TV, for a refreshment from the theatre’s canteen.

Performance dates are December 4-8.

Tickets are available by calling the JLT box-office at 417-623-3638 or online at www.joplinlittletheatre. org. Ticket prices are Adults $18; Seniors (55/up) and Students (Any) $15 and Children 12 and under $8.
