Three Granby residents, Arkansas man injured in head-on crash on 60

Four people were injured in a three-vehicle accident 5:28 p.m. today on U. S. 60, a half mile west of Granby.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2004 Ford Expedition driven by Lucas L. Stephens, 25, Granby, attempted to pass a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Kevin E. Minear, 54, Granby, then to avoid an eastbound 2019 Kia Sportage driven by Benito A. Blas-Leon, 65, Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, merged into the westbound lane and struck the rear of the Minear vehicle, causing it to cross the center line and hit the Blas-Leon vehicle head on.







Minear and a passenger, Tracy M. Minear, 54, Granby, were treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. Another passenger, Brittany Minear, 25, Granby, was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy.

Blas-Leon was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
