MSSU Project Stay students to serve Thanksgiving meals at Watered Gardens

(From Southern News Service)

Students in the Project Stay program at Missouri Southern State University will prepare and serve a pre-Thanksgiving meal at Watered Gardens Gospel Rescue Mission (531 Kentucky Ave, Joplin) on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

A Thanksgiving tradition between the program and Watered Gardens since 2013, about 15 students - working in shifts - will begin cooking and prepping around 9:30 a.m., serve meals at 11:00 a.m. and handle cleanup duties afterwards.

This is just one of the many community service projects Project Stay students carry out throughout the year. Others have included Rapha House, The Joplin Humane Society, Fostering Hope, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States and Camp Soroptimist.
