Kennedy has been police chief since January 1, 2015 when he replaced David McCracken who retired.
He has been with the Neosho Police Department for 21 years and has been in law enforcement for 26 years.
Kennedy has been serving as interim city manager since July, following Leland Butcher, who resigned.
