Joplin city offices to be closed Thursday, Friday, trash pickup schedule changed

In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29.

This closing includes the Joplin Recycling Center, MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services. 

The Recycling Center will reopen on Saturday, November 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

City Hall and other City services will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 2. 








MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services will resume services starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, December 2.

Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments) will continue to operate throughout the Thanksgiving holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year. Joplin Regional Airport operations will also be running on Thursday and Friday.

Joplin citizens are reminded that residential trash and curbside recycling will NOT be picked up on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28. 

 Customers who usually have trash/recycling picked up on Thursdays will have their trash/recycling picked up on Friday, November 29. 

 Friday customers will have their trash/recycling picked up on Saturday, November 30.
