Seneca police make drug arrests, arrest sleeping drunk on warrant

On 10/31/19, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Cherokee/Mill for a moving violation.

The driver, Mary Sutten, had three warrants: tampering with a motor vehicle, Defective Equipment and Failure to Dim Headlights. These warrants were out of: Jasper County, Webb City and Seneca.

On 10/31/19, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Seneca/Delaware for multiple moving violations. The driver was arrested for DWR and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 10/29/19, Officer Kirby made a traffic stop at Cherokee Ave/Mill St for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested and cited for: DWR and No Insurance. Officer Kirby transported the subject to Newton County Jail.

On 10/26/19, Officer Housley made a traffics stop at Washington/Billings for a moving violation. The driver was arrested for: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

The passenger was arrested for: Possession of a controlled substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to Newton County Jail.

On 10/25/19, Officer Thiel was dispatched to Big Daddy’s in reference to a drunk sleeping inside the store. Officer Thiel arrived and made contact with the subject, Brian McGehee. 

McGehee had a warrant out of Neosho for a traffic violation. McGehee was arrested on his warrant and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 10/11/19, Officer Kirby and Chief Altic witnessed a motorcycle with no plates run a stop sign at Billings/Ottawa. Chief Altic initiated a traffic stop but the motorcycle continued to flee. 

The driver failed to stop for approximately one mile before pulling over. The driver was arrested and charged with: C&I Driving, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle and Possession of Controlled Substance.
