Arrest made after attempt to use counterfeit money at Granby Snak Atak

(From the Granby Police Department)

On February 18th, Chief Kelley was dispatched to Snak Atak for a subject attempting to use counterfeit currency.

After confirming the money was indeed counterfeit, and despite the subject attempting to create a believable story, Chief Kelley managed to obtain a full confession from the subject, confiscated even more counterfeit bills, and obtained the location in the county where the money had been printed.

The information was quickly shared with Newton County detectives who acted promptly, shut down the operation and recovered even more counterfeit money along with the equipment used.

We want to thank the Newton County Sheriff's Office for their assistance and to their prompt response to the information we shared.
