We have been notified of several scams circulating. One where a police department calls you and says you have warrants, then tells you to get gift cards to pay the fine.
The other is a family member calls and tells you they are in trouble and need you to get gift cards, take pictures of the front, scratch off the back and send them pictures of the back of the card. This enables anyone to use the card you hold.
No one ever calls or sends you emails asking you to get gift cards to get out of a problem. It is always a scam.
Criminals will continue to try and find a way to separate you and your hard earned money. Please don't fall prey to this, if you have doubts about emails or calls, they are probably wrong. Call you local police department before you do anything like this, we can give you advice.
