Joplin Fire Department receives updated auto extrication equipment

(From the Joplin Fire Department)

Tuesday, the Joplin Fire Department took delivery of all new auto extrication equipment that will replace our current line of equipment some of which is nearly 20 years old.

The new equipment is TNT battery powered tools providing faster deployment, a quieter working environment, and is rated to handle the new metals commonly seen in newer model vehicles.

This equipment would not have been possible without grant funding from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

Each front line apparatus will be carrying a combination spreader and cutter while our two rescue trucks will carry a full compliment of extrication equipment. Thank you to Jon's Mid America Fire Apparatus for working with us on this lengthy project.
