Joplin man killed in SUV-motorcycle collision at 32nd and Connecticut

On Saturday, May 8th at 3:58 pm the Joplin Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call of an injury crash at 32nd Street and Connecticut Avenue involving a motorcycle and a Sport Utility Vehicle. 

During the initial investigation it was determined a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle was westbound on 32nd Street and collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that was eastbound and attempting to make a northbound turn onto Connecticut Avenue. 







Chanz Olson, age 26 of Joplin, Missouri was operating the motorcycle. He was transported by EMS to a local hospital but later died from his injuries. Next of kin has been notified. 

Occupants of the Chevrolet Tahoe were not injured. Members of the Joplin Police Department Major Crash Team responded to the scene to begin their investigation, which is still ongoing at this time. Further details may be released as they become available.

  1. This woman should be charged with vehicular homicide and spen uears in prison. She took my nephew away because she thought she could make it.
