Five people injured in I-49 collision

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision 4 p.m. Thursday on I-49 at Anderson.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by Silas O. Morris, 18, Pineville, hydroplaned, crossed the median, struck the guardrail and overturned into the southbound lanes and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Perry B. Kinney, 64, Goodman, in the right front corner.






Kinney was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, while three passengers in his vehicle, Angela J. Kinney, 42, an eight-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl were treated for moderate, moderate and minor injuries, respectively, at Freeman.

Morris was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
